Zakat is one of the five pillars and is a duty for all eligible Muslims. It purifies your wealth. Zakat is a compulsory charity for able Muslims to carry out to fulfil their obligations and please Allah (SWT).

Zakat must be paid every year at the same time for individuals, but at different times for every Muslim. Zakat is due once a Muslim meets or exceeds the Nisab threshold, which is the minimum amount of wealth someone must possess before Zakat is due.

Every Muslim pays it at a different time from each other, but at the same time of year they met the Nisab for as long as they have the wealth.
